What happens at this event?

Join us for our weekly Saturday classes focussing on sustainable fashion and design.

These practical, hands-on, fun-packed sessions will teach you how to develop your own unique dress sense and how to design and make clothes and accessories whilst being mindful of the environment.

Trial Sessions

Look out for one-off trial sessions. When made available, you can book a trial before committing to the rest of the term.

Flexibility in your hands

It is up to you how many weeks you join, but don’t leave it too long, as you may risk sessions selling out!

What is included?
We are working with high quality industry waste materials kindly donated to us by leading fashion houses such as Ted Baker, Orlebar Brown, Anya Hindmarch, Marks & Spencer, Closet London, Eponine London etc. Students are also encouraged to deconstruct, redesign, alter and mend their existing clothes and accessories. - PLEASE ALSO SEND IN CLOTHES/Textiles etc TO DONATE so we can swap and use them for our teaching! All tools including sewing machines are provided. You are also most welcome to work with your own sewing machine and/or tools.
What will I learn?
- To use the sewing machine - Clothes and pattern making - Design skills with a purpose - Understand lifecycle of things - Hands-on life skills - Our approach follows the UNESCO adopted pedagogy “Education for Sustainable Development’. Students are encouraged to express a wide variety of issues such as identity, inclusivity, gender, heritage, love, peace and beauty in their creative work.
Are there any concessions or offers?
We are reserving a limited number of bursary places for students in special circumstances. If you think you might be eligible to apply we require written proof (e.g. a letter from your child’s school explaining your case, universal credit docs etc) - We do NOT offer siblings discounts unless they fit in the above category. - Do you want to become a sponsor for a local child to be able to attend our classes? Does it matter if I don’t have any sewing experience?
All ages and abilities are welcome! We gauge every student's skills and abilities at the beginning to be able to recommend the right level for each individual.
